The transition to college is often underestimated by parents and teens alike.

If a student does well in high school, it’s assumed they are well prepared for college. Your teen may be academically ready, but they may need strengthening in other areas.

The truth is…

  • High school guidance counselors are riddled with added responsibilities and requirements with an ongoing pressure to guide their students through the college admissions process.

  • Parents are creating college accounts before gender reveal parties in the hopes of not having to refinance their homes to afford the rising costs of higher education.

  • Colleges and universities are doing whatever they can to keep applicants coming, retention high, and promote the narrative that a college experience is a necessary element of personal and professional development. High-risk drinking, sexual assault, suicide and eating disorders have a disastrous impact on today's college students.

College students should not only know how to take care of themselves, but one another.
